Mae J. ( Myers) Smith, 89 of Girard, passed away on Monday January 1, 2018 at Manor Care in Erie.
 She was born May 26, 1928 in Oil City, a daughter of the late Clifton and Myra (McKelvey) Myers.
 Mae attended Wilson School in Erie, when she moved with her family to Arizona. While there she lived in Tempe and Apache Junction for many years where she raised her family. She returned to the area in 1962 and worked at the Wesleyville American Legion Post #571. She later went to work for Spectrum Control in Fairview where she retired from on October 29, 1993.
 She was a devout Baptist and attended the Harborcreek Baptist church for many years. Mae enjoyed bingo, crocheting, Bible study, card games, cross word puzzles, Triominos and her dog “Brownie.” Mae loved life and was a devoted mother, grandmother,  great grandmother and great great grandmother.
 In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sons in infancy, Johnny and Ronnie Smith.
 She will be greatly missed by her family, which include her seven daughters, Diane Smith, Sharon Coffin (Bob), Marsha Carmosino (Andy), Sandra Borland (Jim), Jean Smith, Nancy Smith and Patti Lintz (Tony Mannupelli); sisters, Elsie Burr and Ruth Cessna; 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews.
 Friends may call on Wednesday 6 to 8 p.m. at Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard and are invited to attend services there on Thursday at 10 a.m. with Chaplain Dave Miles of Heartland Hospice officiating.
 Mae’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Manor Care for the assistance that Mae received while a resident and Heartland Hospice.
