Daniel Andrew Sabol 93 formerly of Cranesville, died Sunday October 18, 2009 at Fairview Manor.
 He was born on March 3, 1916 in Cranesville, a son of the late Andrew and Dorothy R. Reisner Sabol.
  Daniel attended school in Albion. As America was at war during WWII, Dan enlisted in the Army Air Corps. He began his military career as an airplane mechanic and later became a crew chief for various military aircraft, most notable the B-17 bomber.
  Following his discharge from the military he returned home and became a successful tavern owner including Lavery's Corners Tavern (now Calfin's Place) in Edinboro, Traveler's Inn (now Chico's) in Fairview, and the South-Star in Springboro.
  Daniel was a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Cranesville; the American Legion in Titusville, Florida; the Lawrence Lodge, F.&A.M. of Erie., Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Erie; and Zem Zem Shrine.  He enjoyed his work as a home town tavern owner and proprietor and also loved golfing, hunting and playing euchre.
  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers John, Paul Sabol, and Andrew Sabol; grandson, Samuel Lee Travis and great-grandson Graham Tozer.
  He will be greatly missed by his family which includes his five daughters, Denise A. Bennett and her husband Daniel of Girard, Jessie A. Jankowiak and her husband Walter of McKean,Judi Delfreo and her husband John of Erie, Dorothy M. Travis and her husband Sam of Erie, and Diane Hunt and her husband Bill of Monticello, GA.; his brother Harold R. Sabol and his wife Irene of Richmond, VA; Sixteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren;two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
 Friends may call at the Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home 309 Main St. East, Girard on Wednesday from 6PM to 9PM. A Masonic Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 7:30PM. Funeral Services will be held there on Thursday at 10AM with Rev. Keith Draa officiating.
  Internment with full military honors will be in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
