Kathryn J. Miller Silverthorn, 77 of Platea, died following a brief illness at St. Vincent Health Center on Saturday December 5, 2009.
 She was born March 4, 1932 in McGees Mills, PA., a daughter of the late Lee and Trudell Sutton Miller.
 Kathryn graduated from Girard's Rice Avenue Union High School in 1952. She later worked for the Girard Model Works;  the Girard Plastic Co., and most recently had been employed at Pleasant Ridge Manor where she had worked for 20 years as a Nurses Aid.
 She was a member of the Platea Garden Club and enjoyed bingo and reading.
 She will be sadly missed by her family which includes her husband, Robert T. Silverthorn, whom she married January 30, 1953 in Lake City; also by three daughters, Robin L. Vanicek and her husband Ron of Girard, Sandra E. White of Girard, Penny J. Griffo of Mims, FL.; three sons, Gary L. Silverthorn and his wife Jeannine of Erie, Scott A. Silverthorn and Robert E. Silverthorn both of Girard; a sister Sandra Stillions and her husband John of Girard; a brother Robert Miller and his wife Barb of Cranesville; five grandchildren, Kathryn Ferguson, Jon Silverthorn, Aaron White, Jenna White, Elizabeth Griffo; three great grandchildren, Courtney, David and Cameron and several nieces and nephews.
 Friends may call on Monday from 6PM to 9PM at Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard.
 Burial will be private in the Platea Cemetery.
