There aren\'t words to say it all. I feel like my parent has died. What a celebration is going on in heaven!! I am so grateful to the Lord that He introduced me to Rev. and the whole Burns family. Love and prayers are with you!

Left by Laurie Potter, World Gospel Mission, Honduras on 3/17/10

My sincerest condolences for your loss. Rev. Burns was well-remembered by my family for his pastorate at Rockland.

I was just an infant then, but later got to know him and Mrs. Burns while speaking at mission conferences over the years. I have nothing but fond memories of my brief times spent with him.

I add my own memories to the stories my family relates of him, and I know that he served our Lord well -- with love, a smile, and steadfastness. I praise God for the life of Rev. Burns.

May the Lord uphold you all in your time of grief.

I was saddened to hear of Dick\'s passing, altho I know he is rejoicing right now. He and Jean played such a huge role in my pre and early teen years in Rockland. Left by Tina Freeman on 3/17/10

A very long time ago when I was going through a very difficult change in my life, even though he did not know me, Pastor Burns took time to talk and pray with me. I never new then, that his daughter would end up being my friend. I thank God for such a wonderful family. I know that he is celebrating his life right now, but my prayers are still with his family during this time of loss.

Left by Kathy Kosarek on 3/17/10

I have wonderful memories of Dick dancing before the Lord and singing in the Spirit. Now he dances in the arms of the God he served. To our family in early years of ministry, he was a role model, an example, a mentor, and, with his wife Jeanne, an encouragement by offering us his friendship. God speed, as now he sees face to face and has heard those words spoken to a good and faithful servant.

I was very sad to read of Rev Burns passing when I read the Erie Times this morning. I first met him when I was 16 and a staff member at Camp Mt Run in 1966. I can vividly remember genuine smile and caring nature. Although I have not seen him in recent years, I have thought about him often and remember the good times we shared that summer. You have our prayers and depest sympathy.

Heaven must be echoing with praise songs at the homecoming of a beloved son. We remember our dear brother in the Lord from many path crossings, but the praise and worship times after the W. PA Annual Conference sessions at Grove City College stand out in our memories. He will be missed here on Earth, but we know he is at peace and in good health once again with his Lord in Heaven. The angels are rejoicing, as are we, in spite of our earthly loss. Our prayers are with the family.

To Wilma and family - Heaven is richer and earth poorer with Dick moving into the glorious presence of our Lord Jesus Christ! I first crossed paths with Dick in the beginning years of my ministry which began in 1959 and that first meeting likely took place at Cherry Run Camp. Dick was a powerful witness to the transforming grace of our Lord Jesus. God\'s best to all of you in these days as our Lord tarries in His return to this needy world. Isaiah 41:10.

In 1951, when our class was in our first year at Asbury College, Dick was a senior and one of our Class Sponsors. Although many years have passed since I have seen him, he was a great encourager and model for us freshies. I last spoke to him in 2005 just before our fiftieth reunion, to thank him for his leadership and example. It has been a delight to read the reminiscences, after I knew him, of his life lived for Jesus. Great will be his reward!
