Jeffery A. Grettler

Jeffery A. Grettler, 63 of Girard, died Tuesday March 30, 2010 at Charlotte Regional Hospital, Punta Gorda, Fl. following a brief illness. He was born in Erie, a son of the late Paul Grettler Jr. and Elizabeth Senyo Grettler. Jeff graduated from Girard's Rice Avenue Union High School in 1964. Following high school he enlisted in the US Marine Corps Reserves where he served until 1972. He went to work in the family business, Grettler Meats, in Girard which he eventually purchased from his father and continued it's operation for over 30 years. He was a member of the Girard United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post #494 in Girard, the Elk Valley Sportsmen Club and loved perch fishing and hunting. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Linda Grettler. He will be sadly missed by his family, which includes his wife, Dorothy Blystone Grettler, whom he married June 14, 1969 in Girard, also by a daughter, April M. Welsh and her husband Paul of Hatfield, PA.; a sister, Sharon Dougan and her husband Gary of Lake Placid, FL.; three grandchildren, Luke, Eva and Zoe Welsh and three nieces, Carole Lynn Voss and her husband Kent, Laurie Pauchel and her husband Jim and Jolene Rawlins. Friends may call on Monday from 2 to 4PM and 7 to 9PM at Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard. Services will be held there on Tuesday at 10 AM, Rev. Darrell Greenawalt, Pastor of the Girard and Lake City United Methodist Church's officiating. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
