Delores A. "Dixie", "Tippy", Romba, 74 of Girard, died unexpectedly Thursday April 22, 2010 at Hamot Medical Center .
She was born November 19, 1935 in Girard, a daughter of the late Michael and Anna Vargulich Komisarski.
Dixie graduated from Girard's Rice Avenue Union High School in 1953 and was employed for various restaurants in Erie, working for many years at the Kahkwa Club, Frederico's in Erie and most recently at the Buoy Restaurant.
She was a member of SS Cyril and Methodius Byzantine Catholic Church and enjoyed all types of gardening, especially flower gardening and roses. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family at home or visiting new places with them.
In addition to her parents Dixie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 54 years, Zigmond "Curly" Romba on February 3, 2010; and by her brother, Michael Komisarski.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Robin R. Stonitsch and her husband Frank of Girard; her son, Mark M. Romba and his wife Kathleen of Lake City; her sister, Janet Pratt and her companion Roger Pierce of Erie, her brother, Joseph Komisarski and his wife Annette of Girard; grandchildren William Barto, Kristen, Cory and Lucas Stonitsch; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard. A Prayer Service will be held there on Monday at 9:30AM followed by the Funeral Liturgy at SS Cyril and Methodius Byzantine Catholic Church, 1022 Tilden Ave., Girard, with Fr. Robert Karl officiating.
Burial will be in St. John Cemetery.
