Betty L. Mowery

Betty L. Karney Mowery, 80 a resident of Chardonnay Village Girard and formerly of Fairview, died Sunday May 2, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family.
  She was born, April 18, 1930 in Erie, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Alice Harcourt Karney.
 She graduated from East High School and later began working at Hammermill Paper Co. where she met her future husband Harold. She remained a homemaker throughout the remainder of her life, always caring for her husband, children and grandson.
 Betty enjoyed sewing, quilting and upholstering furniture and car seats.
 She was a member of the Lake City Presbyterian Church; the "Glad We Met" chapter of the Metropolitan Owners Club of North America; the Lake Erie Banjo Jammers and the Tri Boro Senior center in Fairview.
 In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harold E. Mowery in 2001, and whom she married September 11, 1948 in Erie.
 She will be sadly missed by her family, which includes her daughter Karen S. Ellis and her husband Ernie of Erie; a son Kent R. Mowery and his wife Janice of Currie, NC; a grandson, Edward C. Mowery of Clearwater, FL. a brother Robert Karney and his wife Mary Lou of Erie and several nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed the friendship and companionship of her faithful dog, Rambo.
 Friends may call on Tuesday from 2PM to 4PM and 7PM to 9PM at Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard. Services will be held there on Wednesday at 10AM, Rev. Charles McClung officiating.
 Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
