Richard A. Gruzosky

Richard A. "Pook", Gruzosky, 74 of Rochester, NY and formerly of Girard, died Friday May 7, 2010 surrounded by his family at Unity Hospital in Rochester. He was born August 27, 1935 in East Springfield, a son of the late John S. and Stella Pokerwinzski Gruzosky Sr. Richard graduated from the Rice Avenue Union High School in 1953. Following high school he attended San Jose State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He had been employed by the Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester for more than 20 years retiring in 1991. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and the Berlin Crisis. He enjoyed hunting, photography, gardening, and researching genealogy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Anne Gruzosky in 2005; also by a brother, John S. Gruzosky Jr. in 2005. He will be sadly missed by his family which includes his wife, Joyce M. Graf Gruzosky of Rochester; two sisters, Patricia Redding of Lake City and Jean Sabovik and her husband Howard of Girard; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5-8PM at Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home. 309 Main St. East, Girard. A Prayer Service will be held there on Wednesday at 9:30AM followed by the Funeral Liturgy of the Word at 10AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 101 Olin Ave., Girard. Burial with full military honors will be in St. John's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Susan G.
