Dorothy M. Sursely Lesko, 78 of Millcreek Township and formerly of Lake City, died Sunday May 9, 2010 at her home.
  She was born on December 14, 1931 in Erie, a daughter of the late Alfred and Margaret Powell Sursely.
  Dorothy graduated from Girard's Rice Avenue Union High School in 1949 and in 1951 graduated from Lake Erie Commercial College. She worked as a secretary at Lord Corporation until 1960 when she began work at Lesko Enterprises, and was a corporate secretary there from 1976 until present. She was an assistant Tax Collector for the Lake City Borough from 1969 to 1989.
  Dorothy was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Erie and was a former member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Girard. She was President of St. John's School P.T.O., president of the Holy Spirit Auxiliary and a Eucharistic Minister. Dorothy was also secretary of the Girard-Lake City Needy Fund and secretary of the Girard/Lake City Chamber of Commerce. Dorothy's  greatest joy in life besides her family was her love of traveling.
  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte Platz, and her nephew, Christopher Platz.
  Dorothy will be deeply missed by her husband of 56 years, John R. Lesko, whom she married April 24, 1954 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Girard; her daughter,Margaret Ann McCaslin and her husband Kirk of Millcreek; her sons, Stephen J. Lesko and Eugene A. Lesko and his wife Pam, all of Fairview; her sister, Marilynne Sursely of Orlando, Fla.; her grandchildren, Mark and Matthew Lesko, Chris, Sara and Alex Pearson, Daniel McCaslin, and Huntir Terella; and many nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main Street East, Girard. A Prayer Service will be held there on Friday May 14 at 9:30AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 101 Olin Ave., Girard., with Rev. Glenn Whitman officiating.
  Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
