I was sorry to hear of Jim's passing. Jim(Pappy) was one of the more senior command officers when I first started working at LPD. He was a great mentor & teacher for a young officer like myself. (plus a good softball player) My condolences to his family.

Undoubtably the best Person that I worked with, worked for and knew.
I never ever forgot you Sarge! You were a humble leader and led by example.
I’ll also never forget your sludge hammer right hand! That when you hit somebody in the shoulder, you drove them into next week.
I want his children to know that he was the best of the best.
He represented The Lansing Police Department and his family very, very well.
Everybody knew Jimmy Conklin and everybody loved Jimmy Conklin.
Your rest is well deserved.

To the family of Jim Conklin, Jim was a few years senior to me, and therefore was a mentor or training officer for me and many others. He was always such a good, "straight arrow" in getting the job done correctly. My condolences to all family members. Your loss is a great one.
