Following his honorable discharge from the military he returned home and attended Wentworth Institute (1956-1958), receiving an Associate Degree in Engineering. He later attended Northeastern University, and Western New England College (1960-1966), where he graduated with a degree in Engineering and Management.
Bob was employed by Kerr-Atkinson Engineers, (1958-1960); He later worked for Holyoke Water Power (1960-1966).
