Robert "Bob" Platz

C. Robert "Bob" Platz, 73 of Girard passed away on Monday March 5, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.
  He was born on August 23, 1944 to the late Orville and Doris Platz in Girard Township, PA. He attended Rice Avenue Union High School. and later worked for Zurn Aluminum, Jackburn Industries, Girard Tool & Die and was self employed as a  farmer in the area. Most recently he had been employed by R-O-C Transport in Cleveland, as an over the road Truck Driver for many years. 
   As a young man, Bob loved showing his horses and enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson. He was a member of the Girard American Legion Post #494 Sons of the American Legion and  an auxiliary member of the Edinboro McKean VFW Post #740 and  social member of the Springfield VFW Post #4965; the Eagles Club in Conneaut and Walker's Camp, affectionately known as "Camp Davey."
 In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Naomi (Goodenow) Platz Bonnell.
  Bob will be greatly missed by his family, which include his wife, Nora F. (Borland) Platz, whom he married December 7, 1968 in Girard, his daughters, Melissa Williamson (James) and Ann Anderson; a son, Charles Robert Platz, Jr. (Lindy); sister, Judy (Sabol) Meaney (Vic); grandchildren, Cheyanne, Mercedes, Faith, Dakota, Chandra, Dereck, Kayla, Alex and Jesi; his great grandchildren,  Marzipan, Aislynn , Aaliyiah and Andrew also several nieces and nephews.  
  Friends may call  on Thursday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Edder Funeral Home, Inc. Girard, PA.  Services will be held there on Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Nicola Vitiello officiating.
 Burial will be in Girard Cemetery.
