Charlene A Blood

Charlene A. Blood, 70, of Girard died on Friday September 23, 2022 at her home with her husband by her side.
  
She was born on August 30, 1952 to the late Norman and Donna (Stewart) Ball in Bradford, PA. She graduated from Northwest High School in 1970.  After graduation she worked at IGA Grocery Store, Jackburn Industries, Hopkins Manufacturing making baby furniture and as an assembler at Marx Toys making pin ball machines.  Charlene enjoyed being a stay at home mom and watching her grandchildren.  She liked to play bingo, and was an avid baker and scrap booker. Charlene was a long time seamstress, creating her own wedding gown as well as bridesmaids dresses. She also mended clothing through the years as a mother, teaching her daughter. Charlene also enjoyed planting flowers, especially yellow roses, peace roses and pink tulips around her home. She loved to watch butterflies land and flutter away from the flowers.
  
Charlene is survived by her husband, Lawrence G. Blood, whom she married on May 25, 1974 in Albion; a daughter, Stacy Blood; son, Preston Blood (Kyle); sisters, Janice Lauer (Gerald), Norma Jean Ward (Robert), Phyllis Walburn (William) and Mary Ellen "Pippy" Nieswonger (Kevin); brothers, Mark Steele (Cindy Snyder); adopted brothers, Shawn Ball and Dana Ball; grandchildren, George Strange III (Heidi), Samantha Strange (Dylan Thomas), Mercedes Creasy (Alyk), Tia Emerson; great-grandchildren, Grace Creasy, Sophia, George IV, and  David Strange; Step-great-grandchildren Jade Hughes; and many nieces and nephews. 
  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul L. Steele in infancy and Dennis Steele.
  
Friends may call on Tuesday September 27, 2022 at the Edder Funeral Home Inc. 309 Main St. E. Girard from 11:00 a.m. to the time of service at 1:00 p.m. 
Burial will take place in the Erie County Memorial Gardens.
