John A. More

John A. More, 76, of Girard, passed away at his home with his family by his side, on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 following a brief illness.  He will be missed by everyone for his sense of humor and his love for his children and grandchildren. John loved to watch and attend racing events, especially Formula 1. During John's life, he loved tinkering with things, building gadgets in the garage, and many projects that could have been considered inventions.  He also enjoyed working out at Snap Fitness and appreciated the friendships he formed, and the help he received from each of them.
He was born July 29, 1944 in Erie, a son of the late John W. "Jack" and Mary J. (Ackerman) More.  He graduated from Academy High School in 1962. Following high school he began employment at Lakeview Forge in Erie, where he worked for many years, retiring from there as a welder.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Wachter.
John will be greatly missed by his family which include his former wife, Susan C. More;  twin daughters, April E. Hannah (Tim) of Girard, Stephanie A. Klemm (Joel) of Lake City; a son, Christopher J. More (Athena) of Austin, TX; his grandchildren, Cooper and Brantley Hannah, Jack and Jordan Klemm and Adriana and Isabelle More; also several nieces and nephews.
No calling hours or services will be observed.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society; LLS - Western Pennsylvania & West Virginia P.O.
