He was born September 20, 1934, a son to the late Lloyd E. Sr. and Sarah (Kirsopp) Weidler.
Lloyd, affectionately known as Pom Pom by his family was a Fairview native. He graduated from Fairview High School, furthering his studies at Slippery Rock University, specializing in Physical therapy for a year. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Slippery Rock to receive a Bachelor’s Degree, building on this foundation he continued to Pittsburgh University receiving a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. He began his professional career at Saint Vincent Hospital. Lloyd’s dedication quickly propelled him to become the chief of the department, working in the fulfilling role for 38 years. Lloyd was passionate about his work and was well received from patients and coworkers alike.
He lived in a simple way with the life of a true hunter and fisherman, belonging to a select few in the great outdoors. He took with him on all his excursions his loving and competitive wife, Ginny. Their remote camp in the Canadian wilderness was a sanctuary of peace from this busy world. Lloyd’s loving and encouraging influence on others was noticed in his quiet yet profound nature.
