Marie T Kimmy

Marie T. Kimmy, 93, of Fairview, died on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Saint Vincent Hospital.

She was born on July 9, 1929, a daughter to the late George and Anna Mae (Lynch) Leehan.

Marie graduated from Albion Area High School in 1947 marrying her high school sweet heart that same year. Following high school she embarked on a career in secretarial and administrative roles, which spanned many years. Eventually, she retired as the Assistant Personnel Manager and Health Care Administrator at EMSCO Group.

Throughout her life, Marie demonstrated an unwavering commitment to her family. She took great care in tending to her children and ensuring their well-being. Additionally, she made significant efforts to maintain close relationships with her sisters and children, regularly visiting and calling them. During her retirement, Marie devoted herself to caring for her grandchildren, often hosting sleepovers and commemorating special occasions such as birthdays. She also enjoyed shopping, especially for clothing that she and her sister could wear together. She was a past member of the St. Johns Evangelical Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Otis C. Kimmy; her sisters, Doris Sample, Gertrude Williams, Bertha Hemphill, Reges Kuvik and Geraldine Walp.

She will be greatly missed by her family, which include her daughter, Janet M. Lyngarkos; sons, Richard A Kimmy and Eric M. Kimmy; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in Marie’s name to the Erie VA Medical Center 135 East 38th Street, Boulevard, Erie, PA 16504.

With Marie’s wishes, no calling hours will be observed.  A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Johns Catholic Church, 1001 Main St. E. Girard, PA. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery.
