Nicole "Nikki" Hariette (Wagner) Goodwin, 34, of Girard, PA, was called home by her beloved Savior, Jesus Christ on November 18, 2022. Though her own brain had turned against her, Nikki still fought courageously against the darkness for three long years before it took her from us. Her bravery was astounding. All who knew her were better for it.
Nikki was born in Girard on August 18, 1988 to John Wagner and Kelli Fisher. She attended St Johns Catholic School and it is there that she received a solid foundation in education and even more important to her, a lasting relationship with Jesus Christ. She graduated from Girard High School in 2007 and studied at Edinboro University.
Nikki found purpose in her life through the birth of her daughter, Lilly, for whom she fiercely advocated in every action she took in her life. She worked, lived and breathed to make herself better for her daughter. Lilly was her reason for being. When Nikki's arms were around Lilly, she radiated peace and happiness from her soul. When the world got too dark for Nikki, she trusted the Lord with her beloved child, knowing she would be safe.
Nikki met the love of her life James 'Jay' Goodwin in 2015 and was married two years later on July 22, 2017. On that day she did not just gain a husband but a second daughter (MaKenzie) as well, whom she loved and cared for as her own. The four spent the next few years attending church and being a family. Nikki and Jay became members of Bikers for Christ, who came to be family to them.
Nikki's capacity for empathy was unmatched, allowing her to even empathize with those who had wronged her. Her enchanting spirit was magnetic and it endeared so many to her. The authentic expression of joy in her beautiful smile reached upward to her bright, kind eyes and compelled you to be part of her story. She was fiercely loyal, honest and compassionate. Her keen perception and innate sense of integrity brought with it sincerity, understanding and wisdom. Belying her humble nature, she gave all the glory to God.
Nikki will be sorely missed by her daughter, Lilly Ann Wolfe, her husband, Jay Goodwin II and step-daughter, MaKenzie Goodwin; dad, John Wagner (Sue Knorr); mom, Kelli Fisher and step-dad, Jon 'JD' Pugh; brother, Joe Cornelius; sisters, Kayla Wagner (Sam Hastings) and Hayley LeJuene (Kenny); father-in-law, James Goodwin I (Stephanie); mother-in-law, Judith Goodwin; sisters-in-law, Jessica Start and Jennifer Martin; eight nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 1PM to 3PM and 5PM to the time of the service at 7PM at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard.
