Virginia Fetsuga

Virginia A. (Rausch) Fetsuga, 77, died on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Pleasant Ridge Manor. 

  “Ginna” as she was known to friends and family, was born in Lake City, PA on October 26, 1943 to the late Mathew and Clarissa (Jeffrey) Rausch where she was   raised, educated and resided for all but the last portion of her life. Ginna graduated from Rice Avenue Union High School in 1961 and worked at a number of jobs in local manufacturing and assembly as well as several years in the Girard High School cafeteria preparing and serving meals.  Ginna was a longtime member of the Girard Presbyterian Church Woman’s Association and was an active participant of the congregation serving many years working in the church food pantry, kitchen event staff and charity events.

  Ginna greatly enjoyed reading westerns, baking, sewing and spending time with family.  Ginna’s extraordinary skill as seamstress was only met by her skill as a baker.  Her family will forever treasure all the items she made so selflessly for so many over the years. Her willingness to help anyone who needed or wanted was unmatched.  She was quick to laugh and always ready with bible and family stories to inform and amuse.  But most of all, her greatest joy was her grandson whom she loved so dearly and completely, never to wane.

  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters: Doris (Rausch) Copeland, Mary (Rausch) Maher, Margaret (Rausch) Billings, June (Rausch) Zimmerman and Marcella (Rausch) Maitland;  four brothers, Charles Wendt, Matthew Rausch, William Rausch and Robert Rausch.

  Ginna will be greatly missed by her sons, Robert Fetsuga Jr. and his wife Remy of Annandale, VA and David Fetsuga, his wife Margaret and their son Cameron of Dale City, VA.  Ginna also will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews, and particularly her “angel” nieces, Wendy (Zimmerman) Case and Karen Billings, both of Girard.

  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Girard Woman’s Association.
  A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021, 12:00 PM at the Girard Presbyterian Church 260 Main St. E. Girard, PA 16417 with Rev. Nicola Vitiello officiating.

  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Edder Funeral Home Inc. Girard.
